i bet they are trying to offset the 15k chmo tablets
Steve says he has the top of the range tumour with go faster stripes and everything so surely he should get top of range meds

OJ you are proud of Steve and we are proud of you

Blandmum · 28/09/2007 18:52

If he does get given ondansetron, the local pharmacies do keep it in stock, as it is so expensive.

Get your first prescription dispensed in the hospital pharmacy, and put and order in for the next prescription with your local pharmacy. This will avoid an unnecessary wait.

vist went really well we got there at 3.50 appt was 4.25, he was in before his time
spoke to the nurse who had spoken to the doctor who felt that as there was a cock up with him getting his meds yesterday he had taken the anti sickness one just before his chemo and that was why he was sick, he said that now he has had the anti sickness ones 3 times a day he should be ok, he hasn't been sick since 4am althou he feels sick and is very tired he seems better than last night.

if he starts being sick again then we have to call our GP out.

Hi OJ - been at work today, but had a peep at mn tonight to see how you got on. Hope it was better than yesterday.

Elibean · 28/09/2007 21:00

And if he does get ondansetron, thats the same as Zofran, which is the constipating one: dont' know about Mr MB, MB, but my pal said she needed plenty of lactulose as the constipation ended up being the worst side effect once the sickness was got rid of.

Thinking of all three DHs mentioned in this thread, and their very cool wives.

Elibean · 28/09/2007 21:01

Sorry OJ, X posted. Glad it went better!

fortyplus · 28/09/2007 21:01

we are hoping for a better night.
Steves family seem to be getting it a bit more now as they seem to have been burying their heads a lot and they think i am being negative, steves mum and twin brother have been saying for a while that steve will be cured. It has been six weeks since we were told and i think they are at last getting there.

toomanywrinkles · 28/09/2007 21:58

Just popping in to catch up, sounds like things were very difficult for you both yesterday. glad to see that today was better. hoping that tomorrow is good too.

TheMadHouse · 28/09/2007 22:04

Hi OJ

Just seeing how today went. I hope Steve is less nausous tonight. Ondansetron never worked for me, but Cylexine (sp) did. Also if he is actually being sick then they could give either by intramusular injection or via a line. My DH actually injected me three times a day, when I was being sick.

I really sdo hope that you ahve a good weekend and I am also glad that the other appointments are in the am

Blandmum · 28/09/2007 22:07

dh doesn't get constipated on ondansitron, as the chemo tends to cause the squits and the two things sort of even out, i think. Cyclazine works a bit for him, but makes him very tired.

I think that everyone has to 'shop around' a bit to see what works best for them.

Steroids acn help as well, but dh can't really take those because if the tumour induced diabetes

cadelaide · 28/09/2007 22:11

Oh OJ, i type and I re-type and what can I say?, except that you and your family are in my thoughts often and I really hope things go as well as they possibly can for you all over the coming weeks.

robinpud · 28/09/2007 23:04

Glad today's was a little better OJ- will be away for a while but you are all in my thoughts and I hope the next few weeks are bearable.

callmeovercautious · 28/09/2007 23:11

X wishing you more luck on the next round. I know it sounds corney but make friends with the Nurses, they can push alot of buttons with the drs if needed. They are following instructions but will kick up a stink behind the scenes if necessary.

positive vibes from the CMOC house X

Tickle · 28/09/2007 23:11
