Was your cycle pain different after a caesarean?

I had an emergency section two years ago and now I have period type stomach cramps mid-cycle and much worse cramps during my period. I never had these symptoms before the section. Did it make anybody else's cycle pain worse/different?

Yes, I've been plagued with horrendous scar tissue. Mid cycle pain around ovulation, and horrific periods.

See your GP and ask for a gynae referral. I've got a Mirena coil which has helped.

@PenelopePitstop49 Oh I'm so sorry! Do you have any pain in your abdomen / ribs with that, like muscle pain?

I had an EMCS 15 months ago, proper hatchet job and a vertical scar up my uterus as well as a hip to hip external one. Strangely after decades of horrendous periods they’re now nearly pain free, but my ovulation pain is a lot worse. I used to get a twang/twinge but some cycles I now get bad pain for 24 hours and painful bloating. I don’t know how it can be connected but it’s new.

So sorry to hear but it's also really reassuring as I've been feeling really anxious about it. It's like my whole torso is different!

My ovulation pain is horrific and I get pulling on my bowel around ov time so I'm sure there are some awful adhesions in there.

It's reassuring to hear that it's normal to feel a change throughout the cycle. I've only really noticed these symptoms a couple of years after the section (about 6 months after my periods came back) but they're really getting to me. I don't know if it being an emergency has meant it's a bit more messed up in there but probably I guess. I'll take pp's advice and ask for a gynae referral
