Please can you help me interpert my cholesterol results?

I've googled but am still a bit confused about the breakdown of the cholesterol test results I got today which are as follows:

tri something or others: 0.7
HDL: 1.5
LDL: 3.4
overall ratio: 3:5

I was told they were "normal" but I've read online that over 5 is slightly raised. Then I read that it's all about the ratio, then I read that LDL shouldn't be over 3.2 (I think) so going by these findings I am showing high, but then my ratio is ok. Hence my confusion

So although I am sure it's a healthy result, I would like to know if it's just healthy and no more or if it's actually quite good. Any advance on "normal" by someone in the know?

I had never given my cholesterol a thought until DH had his done and then he nagged me every time he saw me eating cheese or somthing.

My total cholesterol was 5.0 which is the highest that is considered 'normal' I wasn't told the ratio. Dh was slightly high and wasn't sure what to do as we eat pretty healthily. He tried Benecol drinks and spread even though we thought it would be a total gimmick - and now his is lower than mine! So despite our scepticism they really do work!

Oh - and 6 out of 10 adults have high cholesterol so if yours is normal you can afford to be smug!

Yes, the Benecol stuff probably does work otherwise they really wouldn't be allowed to sell it as "choslesterol lowering" but it's really expensive I thought.

Still confused though as to whether mine is a great result, or it's just ok IYSWIM.

I think it's good. Apparently 4.3 is perfect or so I was told
