IBS? So uncomfortable but worried to ring doctors

Hi everyone.
I think I had a bout of IBS a few years ago. I was given Buscopan.
The past week or so I am suffering terribly. I am trying to eat healthy, today had a lovely salad made by my BF (I visited his house.) It had egg, smoked salmon, avocado, new potatoes, olives and lots of salad.
I left shortly after it but my stomach was so painful, bloated, needed to go to the loo. I got home and sat on loo for 10 minutes, not a lot came out except wind. I then took buscopan and felt ok.
I am very funny about going for a number 2 at anyone elses house as it is and this is making me paranoid. Does anyone have any advice

Mine improved a lot with drinking Yakult every day. I would say visit your GP though to get a check up.

I suffer with Crohn’s disease but I really struggle with certain foods. Salad is a massive no no for me so it’s a possibility a trigger for you? I personally find I can’t eat any fruit or veg or it causes me terrible symptoms

I can’t have salad either. The wind pains are just horrendous.

Work out what your trigger foods are by doing fodmap. Google it.

It doesn’t work for everyone but it’s what the nhs dietician told me to try.

Didn’t work for me but it works for hundreds of people. Try it. It could change your life.

I was just looking at fodmaps and high and low foods.
I am looking for an alternative millk for my tea and coffee....

But why is it when you try and eat healthy these problems occur?

My husband suffered horrifically with IBS. Going to the doctors they put him on a fodmap diet to work out his triggers. It's boring but it helped us work out. High fat, high salt (especially healthy foods high salt) foods would set it off and the biggest thing is that he is completely intolerant to ginger (which the majority of processed foods that say mixed spice has in) he's on special meds now that control it all better but it's partially also to do with recently having his gall bladder removed.

When I was put on amitriptyline for nerve damage the doctor was also talking about that it was used for ibs control as well.
