This is going to be bad news isn't it

My DM had a CT scan and bloods as an outpatient on Friday. She already has a working diagnosis of pneumonia and pleural effusion. Her GP is going to pop in tomorrow to update her on her results and further tests she may need. Can't help but think that it's bad news if they are seeing her face to face. Anyone experienced differently?

Not necessarily. I’ve known patients receive phone calls direct from the hospitals as soon as results become available sending them straight to hospital for treatment or tests and bypassing the GP altogether.

I hope you and your DM get reassuring news tomorrow.

OP, I don't have any experience with this but I can imagine how nerve wracking this must be for you and your DM. I have everything crossed for you that it is nothing bad! x
