Hiya bumbly,

white speck could possibly be oral thrush, has lo been on antibiotics lately- a poss cause? Keep an eye out for further outbreaks, especially in cheeks between gums.

Do they flinch or seem in pain when feeding?

HV will prescribe something for lo if it is, probably best to ask them.

no only one speck and no pain on feeding apart form wind pain

bumbly, if it isn't thrush, it's possible it is the top of her tooth just visible under the gum. My DDs bottom teeth were like this from about 8 or 9 weeks, and the first one erupted last week at 15 weeks.

some babies are actually born with teeth

If it isn't bothering your LO, then I would leave it and ask your HV next time you see her.

Thrush tends to look like fuzzy white patches I believe. IIRC, my DD had a white speck on the roof of her mouth at her six week check and the doctor said it was a milk spot. It disappeared of its own accord.

The hands in mouth a lot is just something they start to do at this age. My DD has been chomping away at hers for ages...she even saved some posset in her hand for me the other day....nice

Try not to worry too much
