Anyone help?
My son has had headache since last wednesday(a week now) he started with spots on sunday and being sick. Took to docs on Monday and they said viral infection and gace me penicillin for him. He still isn't right and still off school, he still has headache and tummy ache, but not being sick. Any ideas? He shouldn't still have headache after a week should he?

Not quite sure why they gave you antibiotics for a viral infection. I would take him back to the doctors. hth

How old is he, Kath? Are you giving him Calpol or anything? And is he drinking plenty? If I were you, I'd think about taking him to see a different doctor if it carries on ? antibiotics wouldn't be any good for a viral infection.

Poor soul ? I hope he perks up soon.

thanks for your replies.
He is 8 years old. I am giving him plenty of calpol and he is drinking plenty of water. just a bit worried that the headache is still there when its been a week

i used to get lots of headaches as a kid. Have you ever had his eyes tested?

Also certain foods can trigger headaches. Oranges, chocolate, yeast etc

I also think you should take him back to the doctor or even better imo see a homeopath

He needs a GP (pref a different one, unless he has a secondary bacterial infection, as well, of some description that warranted a course of Penecillin). I would get him in today if he still has a rash/temp/vomiting as the course of antibiotics has probably finished has it?
