D&C - how long to recover?

I’ve had a missed miscarriage and need a D&C. I’m wondering how long it took others to recover.

I have a camping trip booked 4 days after the D&C. It’s for my best friends wedding and she already scaled down from 200 people in a church to 20 of us glamping and an outdoor wedding. I don’t want to let her down. There are decent toilets. Will I be OK?

It took me around 2 weeks to feel myself again but around 1 week for the bleeding to ease and 5 weeks for it to stop entirety. I did have post partum heamoraging though.
My baby died at 10 weeks but I was 15 weeks when I had the procedure done so that does make a difference.
There are other factors that effected my recovery but I don't think that is relevant to you.
Sorry for your loss, how far along are you?

2 weeks for me, both mentally and physically it was almost like a magic button had been pressed and I was suddenly feeling better. Take care of yourself, sorry for your loss

Sorry but I don't think you should go. The bleeding is up and down, you may think it's fine then you get a load, and with each load comes a horrible wave of emotion, that's obvs just me but really really think about it. Your friend will understand and you also don't want to be faking enjoying yourself when you should he allowed to just grieve at home

Thanks. I am meant to be 9 weeks now but baby died at 7.5 weeks so its absolutely tiny. It had a heartbeat at 6.5 weeks then nothing at 8 weeks.

I was 11 weeks and to be honest I felt fine the day afterwards. I had to wait two weeks for mine to happen so I was relieved it was over.
Sorry for your loss 💐

I had one for a blighted ovum and I had a few days at home before I went back to work, with just a normal period amount of period bleeding. How far away from home are you? I’d probably go, but with the intention to cut the trip short or go a day late if tired.

Thanks all. It seems experiences are a bit mixed.

I had no idea you continue to bleed for weeks. I went for surgery over pills to minimise the traumatic bleeding.

I had no bleeding at all after mine so experiences are obviously different. I’m really pleased I went for surgery rather than pills, it was honestly not painful or traumatic at all.
