I went over on my ankle, at home. I didn’t fall but a heard a snap.
It was immediately very painful.
I was only walking along a carpeted corridor in flat shoes. What can I have done?
The top of my foot is very painful, I can wiggle my toes but it hurts to move them upwards.
I can walk on it but it is very painful.
I’ve put ice on it.
I’m so cross with myself.Any ideas please?

Sounds like soft tissue (tendon/ligament) damage.

You need to stop walking on it and get checked out.

It sounds a bit like when I ruptured my Achilles heel. If so you need to get yourself to hospital I'm afraid.

I'm sure I remember an old thread where someone did similar, including the "heard a snap". She went to A&E in the end and there was indeed a problem they needed to sort (I'm afraid I can't remember what!).

Go to A&E, only they can tell you.

Agree it's probably a tendon or ligament injury. I've done almost exactly the same, in the past and after 2 weeks of it being black and swollen (not immediately after the twang) I was limping on it for years.

Definitely needs checking out. Maybe not now, if you can do the RICE thing and not have to hop about after kids but definitely first thing in the morning, if that's easier for you.
