Hi donut im a pharmaceutical rep and qualified technician in some cases tramadol can be classed as a strong version of pain relief, but isnt anywhere near morphine sulphate sorry hun, i would say yg after a week, you still have inflammation you need to see your gp, i think there is a possibliity there is an infection present but dizzle came up with a good idea antiseptic mouthwash should help you through the night.

Miaou · 23/09/2007 20:20

Have you been monitoring your temperature Yorkie? If it's up then that would be an indication of infection.

Have you got any extra help at home in case you feel really poorly tomorrow?

poor you - you must be feeling vile!

debbsyandsonn · 23/09/2007 20:30

hope you feel better soon yg xx

Do you think it was just 'debris' black, stringy red stuff or was it sloughy? green, slimy??? sorry if TMI!!! There's a lot of debris after these ops, were you advised to eat toast and stuff to 'scrape' the wound clean (if not don't, it's been years since I did ENT and then it was paeds)

3Ddonut · 23/09/2007 22:17

do you have a post-op point of contact at the hospital? They may agree to see you rather than the GP, but get an appointment anyway just in case, you can always cancel.

Do you have a thermometer? The best way of knowing if you have an infection is to take your temperature. Anything over about 37.5 degrees might suggest infection. Hope you feel better soon!

3Ddonut · 23/09/2007 22:27

OK, I'm going out on a limb, Yorkiegirl, you have an infection and you need to see your GP first thing, whether you have to go down there or not, I'm sorry, I'm sure it's not what you wanted to hear, you'll be on the way to getting better once you get some antibiotics into you!

If it makes you feel any better, they wouldn't have given you any because of the overuse of AB's you'd develop a resistance to them, we don't even give AB's to people who've had major cardiac surgery!

Anyway....how are you today?
