Pain when pressing just under cheek bone near ear?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone's experienced anything similar.

I pressed my face (not sure why) just under my cheek bone, above my jaw bone near my head and it's painful. Hard to describe the pain.

Unless I'm pushing the area (quite hard) I'm absolutely fine in myself. I wouldn't of noticed if I hadn't of happened to press it.

I'm not sure whether to make a GP appointment or not?

Thanks for any helpSmile

A hidden spot?

Do you have ear issues or sinus problems?

Porridgeoat · 11/06/2020 07:46

How long has it been this way?

Yester · 11/06/2020 07:47

Do you grind your teeth?

Defenestratethecat · 11/06/2020 07:50

It could be ear wax - had this once and it was very painful in that area when touched.

VisionQuest · 11/06/2020 07:55

TMJ pain? Do you clench your jaw a lot?

kate123cl · 11/06/2020 07:58

Thanks all!

Not a spot from what I can seeGrin

I noticed it when I was sleeping on that side 2 nights ago.

I possibly grind my teeth in my sleep but try to avoid as I have put off fillings for a hole in my teeth (massive dentist phobia)!

It seems to be more in my cheek rather that my ear if that makes sense?

I've had that with an ear infection before. It went by itself. However if it persists I'd suggest contacting your gp.

kate123cl · 11/06/2020 08:00

@veryvery Thanks. Did you have any other symptoms associated with ear infection? I'm otherwise absolutely fine!

On reading your last post it could be related to the tooth you need filled.

veryvery · 11/06/2020 08:02

Ear felt 'full' when clenching jaw. It was only mild in my case. I drank crushed garlic and ginger with lemon juice and it got better practically over night, mixture tasted disgusting, though!

kate123cl · 11/06/2020 08:14

The best was I can describe it is like a really deep down bruise😬

There are lymph nodes all the way around your ear, they can be tender sometimes especially if you're a little run down.

Thank you @PintOfBovril I didn't even think of thatSmile
