Mini-pill while BFing (in order to prevent AF while on holiday)

I'm due to get AF on holiday in a couple of months time, and would love to knock it off schedule.

DS is 13 months old. I'm on my 3rd AF. I've heard that the combined pill can reduce milk supply (which I don't want to do), but that the mini-pill is OK.

Is the mini-pill 'strong' enough to delay AF? Can it be used in this way? Am I likely to end up with lots of spotting?

Any advice would be welcome!!

Mini-pill won't necessarily delay your AF I'm afraid. You might continue you're normal cycle, or you might stop having periods or you might spot - impossible to predict. Combined pill can affect supply but generally this is more of an issue in the early month. Your GP could prescribe a course of a type of progesterone similar to the minipill but a higher dose to put back AF.

Thank you Liath.

Actually this AF has been a royal PITA (literally!) and I think I might go back on the combined pill after all. Am reluctant because I was on it for 10 years pre-DCs and because of the milk-supply, but needs must.
