Been given a choice of medication for BV what's best?

I have been given a choice of taking metronidazole either 3 x 7 days of tablets or via a vaginal gel of 1 x 5 days at night. Does anyone know which is better? We are 7 months in TTC so not sure what is better and also I hate taking tablets. Any suggestions?

Tablets started working for me a few days in, obviously had to keep going to complete the course.
I've not tried the gel so can't comment.

@lulu788 the tablets work well but they are so strong. They made me feel ill and really tired and DO NOT drink alcohol on them!! I found out the hard way! Saying that, I did try the gel too as it kept coming back. It worked but took a little longer. No horrible side effects though! X

The gel isn’t as effective as tablets. If you can bear to complete a course of oral Metronidazole that would be best but it might make you feel ghastly. As a PP has said, absolutely no alcohol. Really. It can affect your breathing.

Thanks @cherryspritz I'm gonna try and take the tablets! I hope I don't spend the week sick
