That was my first thought, but there's no discharge? Is there always? I have just been on a period for over a fortnight (change of pill, argh) and wondered if I could have made myself sore with so many tampons!

(yeah yeah, I know, should have used a mooncup!)

Yes - thrush. Drink plenty of fluids and get yourself to the chemist for some Canesten Cream. If you've got natural yogurt at home you could slap some of that on!

Get thee to a pharmacy counter and purchase a tab of their finest Canesten.

IntheWillows · 21/09/2007 22:34

Oh yes the tampons could easily have made your skin irritated, or could have caused thrush

i don't think there has to be discharge

fortyplus · 21/09/2007 22:34

I went through a phase of being prone to thrush when my hormones were up the creek - never had a discharge, though.

FrannyandZooey · 21/09/2007 22:35

however you should see GU clinic and not just guess IMO

IntheWillows · 21/09/2007 22:36

I'm going for a smear test on THursday, I'll mention it then but get some canesten to try to help it in teh meantime

thanks very much

fortyplus · 21/09/2007 22:39

AHA!! Deffo mention thrush before smear as you can get 'false positive' smear test.

IntheWillows · 21/09/2007 22:40
