How heavy is your 10 mth old?

My little girl (DOB 3/12/03) only weighs 16lb 8oz. She is v. active and bright, crawling everywhere, waving bye bye, saying hello (well, thats what it sounds like to me!)but weighs less than a 6mth old - anyone else out there with this problem? She isn't a brilliant eater, but nor were the boys and they never had any problems with weight. The doctor is talking about doing blood tests this week (gulp!).

My dd2 (18/12/04) is a little on the puny side too -- 16lb something, despite being 9lb 6 oz at birth! So she's gone from 90th to below 9th centile.

They did blood tests about two weeks ago, which wasn't pleasant, but wasn't appalling either -- make sure they give her emla cream on her hands beforehand.

The blood tests didn't show anything -- but as the Dr. said, it would be negligent if we allowed her to keep crossing centile lines without doing a few basic checks.

But she's fine.

Just checked the Red book... DD must have weighed about the same at the same age, Babyface. She's now 3yo and weighs less than 2 stone... but some kids are just small. It's still 9th percentile; that makes nearly 10% of girls smaller than our DDs at the same age. Not that small...

DH & I are both taller than average, btw.

my baby is small, shes nearly nine months old and only 15lb 5 (but then she was small at birth too). they dont seem concerned about her though and she does seem to be developing normally. shes long and slim rather than having that "chubby baby" look if that makes any sense.

Thanks for all the replies. My friends 8 month old is huge and I was starting to get worried about my little dot.
She looks chubby enough and I don't think she will be very tall (we're not). She was 7lb 10oz when born and put on weight fine for the 1st couple of months.
She was bf to 8 months but is now on bottles - it hasn't made any difference to her weight gain. Her appetite has gone down though. I'll probably take her for the blood tests as I've been worrying about it for a while now and I'd like to be sure.
