Weird cut / mark / spot under the skin on Ds’ leg

He’s had what looks like a black spot under the skin for a few weeks now, with the skin just broken, it doesn’t itch or hurt and doesn’t look inflamed - but it’s not getting better or disappearing either. I just have no idea what it is! Don’t want to bother the doctor with it, but not sure if there’s anything we should be doing. Anyone recognise what it might be?

Ingrowing hair?

I’d wondered that, but it’s over a larger area than any ingrown hair I’ve had, and there’s no raised bit or scab, just what looks like an open hole surrounded by black.

I second I growing hair, will he let you poke it with a needle or tweezers?
