Can anything else get rid of migraine tablets not worked

I've got to get rid of this migraine. I can't rest because I've got my 16 month to look after. I can usually cope but it's agony. I've taken naratriptan and ibuprofen. Is there anything else I can do? Food combinations? It's agony as I type this.

Sounds stupid but try drinking regular dioralyte. It can sometimes help.

MissClarke86 · 26/05/2020 13:45

I had sumatriptan but I’m not sure if that’s too similar to what you’ve already taken

NutterPotter · 26/05/2020 13:47

Flat lemonade would help me as it helps to hydrate you. Also try putting a cold compress on the back of your neck that helps with mine x x

I know you mention different sort of treatment but have you ever tried Solpadeine ?? they’re the best for when I get bad migraines and when I get them I’m unable to get out of bed , that’s how bad they are. You’ll find them in any chemist usually

How much naratriptan have you taken? OTC is 50 mg but the ones I get on prescription are 100 mg. So you might be able to take another.

900 mg dissolvable aspirin into a full can of Coke cans help

Olbas oil/menthol can help

Deep heat on the base of the neck

Ice packs

If you are really struggling call your Gp and see if they will give you a prescription for something stronger. I was once given tramadol for a migraine I could not shift - I was completely off my head but it got rid of the pain

FanSpamTastic · 26/05/2020 14:08

I find what helps for me is heat applied to my neck and shoulders. I have a warming pad that I can put on my shoulders but maybe try a hot water bottle or even a warm bath and flannels.

If a migraine gets past a certain point for me then I can't keep anything down as I just puke. So I've had to find other non medicating options.

Other than that - dark room and sleep!

Full fat can of coke and ice packs for head.

I second Solpadeine, there's Solpadeine Max as well but that contains codeine.
I also find a short yoga video on YouTube helps. Theres a neck and shoulder one by Adrienne that really helps and it's only short so easy to do with a little one around.
