shes been referred to a clinic and i was just wondering if any of you parents have had the same problem with your children and what to expect, tests ect.

a lot of children are still in nappies at 3, I wouldnt want any tests doing on my 3 year ld for wetting herself.

squashmonster · 19/09/2007 22:01

maybe a water infection?

fingerwoman · 19/09/2007 22:03

I was going to say UTI. seems a bit premature for being referred to clinic.

littleboo · 20/09/2007 09:32

I'd agree - think probably urine infection, but perhaps thats been ruled out

rdk · 20/09/2007 10:41

no she not got infection as her water has been checked several times. i should have said before that she was dry from 2 1/2 then when she just turned 3 she started wetting again so shes gone backwards. she started school and its becoming a problem as im picking her up and shes wet again the doctor said we would give it a couple of months to see it she returnts to being dry again which hasnt happened so after 6 months they have now reffered her as theres no other reason for this happening that he can see.so thats why hes reffered her.

squashmonster, im only doing this as my dd is normally a very happy child and she is getting very upset with herself and fustrated not knowing when she needs to go to the loo. when she wets even tho i tell her its ok she is , she needs it sorting in case theres an underlying problem but who nows maybe all is well when i take her to the clinic.

maybe she is doing this for a attention?? Does your DD does this at her nursery/preschool as well? ....i would be worried if my DD was age 7 and started to go back to wetting herself. 3 is still very young to worry.

cluelessnchaos · 20/09/2007 11:03

dd1 went back to wetting when dd2 was born, definately an attention thing in her case, not much use am I?

rdk · 20/09/2007 11:16

shes our only child and got lots of attention so to be honest i dont think its that cause she will try and change her clothes sometimes so i dont see her wet she is embaressed [cant spell] .as she doesnt know when shes wetting until her clothes are wet cause ive seen it happen and theres no emotion on her face until she notices what shes done.

right...didnt realised that she was an only child.

Had there been any changes in your life or your Dp/DH life or your childs life?

rdk · 21/09/2007 09:15

no theres been no changes at all.

My dd now 4.8 has been going through stages of wetting then not wetting and is always wet at night. No infection was found.
Now her brother 2.10 is potty trained and dry at night. Dd says 'it's not fair he's cheating.'

For now I am just leaving it, putting it down to all children being different.

She has just started school and wetting very rarely in the day. If she doesn't keep improving I'll trot her back to the doc.
I'll be interested to see how you get on.

Rosylily · 21/09/2007 09:33

My dd never wet at playschool or at school so I suspect non-physical causes in our case.

squashmonster · 21/09/2007 10:43

didnt mean to offend! I just thought that it wouldnt be considered a problem till she was a bit older, as nothing is done about bed wetting until children are about 7 years old.

rdk · 21/09/2007 21:44

no its ok you didnt offend me,squashmonster, im just interested from peoples input as you never know someone out there may have been through this and offer some ideas etc. thank everyone . i will keep up dating as rosylily seems to have simalar things with her dd.
