Anyone got spider veins or varicose veins? Did anything you did work to stop them getting worse?

I have noticed in the last year that I’ve got quite a few spider veins on my upper legs, and what looks like the beginning of varicose veins.

My father has really bad varicose veins - really severe. And he had DVT once, which was scary.

Is there anything I can do to stop these getting any worse?

I have support stockings, I don’t wear them much. Should I every day?

Any exercise etc work? Like yoga?

Or will the inevitable happen if it’s going to happen? (Ie: bad varicose veins as it’s genetic)

For me it was inevitable. Children and a genetic disposition saw to that. Support stocking may help a bit but they are horrible things.

I finally had enough a few months ago and had a RF ablation and avulsions done.

The cosmetic result is fabulous and I really wish I hadn't waited so long.

I haven’t heard of that - at the beginning of my research! Did you have spider veins or varicose or both?

So glad to hear it worked really well!

Varicose here. Hereditary plus two children. I had the laser ablation thing about 8 years ago. They were back as bad as ever within two years so now I just put up with them.

I had both spider veins and varicose. Radio Frequency ablation is apparently the "gold standard" current treatment with a good chance of no reoccurrence. We shall see.

Th spider veins haven't gone completely but they are no longer bright red and are virtually unnoticeable. I'm happy to wear skirts now for the first time in years
