Anyone suffer with tinnitus????

Am really starting to think that I may have tinnitus. Mainly in my right ear, its the sensation like when you put a sea shell up to your ear, if that makes sense, as well as general fuzzy hearing. Wondering if its hereditory(sp??) as my dad suffers with it.

my dad suffers with it, not sure if it is hereditary, its like a consant ring/buss for him.

normally its not too bad, but atm I feel like my whole head is buzzing and it's making me feel really sick

Same here Wurly. About 3 months ago we had a night out where there was loud music. My ears were buzzing and I thought it was due to the loud music as I used to get that all the time when I went clubbing in my 'youth'. Anyway I noticed it the next night. I thought it was a house alarm but DH couldn't hear anything.

I had my ears syringed a month ago, but it is still there,mainly at night. It is worrying and I should go back to my GP. I'm just worried it's going to get worse.

Oh poor you. Have you been to the GP? How old are you?

I feel like my head is swimming at the moment. If it is tinnitus then it confirms that I do have menieres disease and not just motion sickness (as the 2 are linked)

i'm 29. Have always suffered ear problems since I was young. TBH thinks I've had this for some time but only really noticed it the past few months.

I've had tinitus for a good few years now after going clubbing with a girl who insisted on dancing next to the speakers.

Thankfully it's only mild and i only really notice it when it's deathly quiet. Otherwise my hearing is still spot on so i am lucky.

However, as i can quite often be in the clubbing environment still, I always make sure i take earplugs and wear them religiously when inside the club. The earplugs i use aren't the same as the ones you'd use for sleeping etc, they are special ones for musical people which "turn down" the sound, rather than blocking it out.

I did find a website that did treatment for tinitus but it's on my laptop so i dont have the link here, sorry.

Crikey Wurly. Never heard of that before. Sounds dreadful. Will you go to GP for further tests?

one thing I can say is RELAX as stress aggravates it big time

time does heal the problem a bit...but i also recomment ginko biloba

I've had tinnitus for a few weeks since my first attack of vertigo - it's a constant high-pitched ringing in my right ear and it's driving me mad. If it carries on I'm going to invest in a pillow speaker as it's worse at night and trying to get to sleep is v difficult without something to mask the noise. My GP told me that eventually the brain learns to turn the volume down a bit

I have really bad tinnitus, it cam on at the same time as me losing all of me hearing last year. It keeps me awake at night, and has had me in tears more than once.

I've been advised to cut out caffeine, try to make sure you don't get over-tired too. I second that stress, and thinking about it makes it worse.

Relaxation is one of the best ways of dealing with Tinnitus. Hope you get some relief from it, I understand how much of an impact it can have on your well-being.

I also get a kind of clicking in my ears too. Has anyone else experienced that?
