Electrical muscle stimulation systems - do they work?

Does anyone own or have specific knowledge on whether these things work? You can find them in the fitness section of the Agos catalogue (I don't know if I'm allowed to mention trade names properly). I've been looking at the Slendertne ab. belts. The theory sits reasonably with me, but what about real life? Do they work to give you better muscle tone (and hopefully strength)? I'm not bothered about weight loss, just muscle tone? Any thoughts?

Also, what about the different subsets from Slendert*ne i.e. Flex-max, Flex, Gymbody plus, Active ...?

Thanks.
