Who do I see? optician or doctor? (Well, actually, I can't see much!)

I can't, really! I've had what feels like something in my eye for a week now. I've checked for eyelash, ingrowing or otherwise, I've done Optrex wash, I've even done early nights, because sometimes I get 'gritty eyes' when I'm tired, but I still feel like I've got something in my eye. Its starting to feel sore when I do the Optrex thing too. So who do I see, optician or doctor?

Either probably will do, but when I have had a problem I always start with my optician. He then refers me to the eye unit at the hospital if necessary. The advantage being that he can start some treatmant straight away so it all gets going a bit quicker, not certain if a G.P would do that. Hope you get it sorted soon as eye problems are really annoying and can be painful.

Either really, you will prob get in with a GP first. If its an anterior eye problem(cornea) a GP should be able to deal with this and either treat or send on to eye specialist(ophthalmologist) if need be.
Optician would be just as good, they do have specialist equpment but don't prescribe.
Alternatively if you have an eye A+E near you, you could phone them and get an appt there(or however they work)
Hope you get it sorted!
