It’s an impossible situation - right now I’d not see any medical professional unless it was a life or death situation. I’ve had severe migraines for the last 6 weeks that make me throw up and feel dizzy and unable to think clearly and is now starting to affect my eyesight, kinda worried I’ve developed some kind of brain tumour (probably haven’t, most likely due to severe stress and anxiety). But like hell am I about to walk into a doctors surgery and expose myself and my children to this virus, and I also don’t want to unknowingly transmit it to anyone else either.

Unless I knew I was going to die without medical care, I wouldn’t risk it.

But you can phone the GP and have a phone consult and then see where to go. To not do is with your symptoms is quite frankly daft.

I had to go to my GPs surgery last week fir an essential blood test.

Great care was taken. Only one chair in the waiting room - you wait in your car until your appointment. The nurse was wearing a mask.

There was hand sanitizer to use on the way in and out. So while I'm sure there was statistically a risk I'd catching covid19, I felt it was a lot safer than going into a food shop.

Well that's not probably very likely since doctors all seem to be doing phone appts just now. If you did have to go to the surgery it's not like pre lockdown where youd be in the waiting room with loads of people. Chances are the only person youd come in contact with is your GP

I've had 4 appointments since lockdown started & only one required going to the surgery. They have you phone on arrival & wait in your car til the doctor is ready for you. You're also not allowed to have anyone go into the building with you

I certainly wouldnt do without medical attn if I was ill

You're probably more at risk going to the supermarket

That’s crazy. How are you going to feel if you get it checked in a couple of months and they tell you it’s something that’s now inoperable but could have been treated if caught earlier??

Assuming you are not in any high risk group your chances of dying from the virus are very very small (even if you caught it from a single dr visit) whereas it sounds like you have a fairly serious problem that may need treatment.

I think people have lost all sense of proportion of how dangerous this virus actually is.
