Now! And it's four hours between Calpol doses.

But six hours between ibuprofen doses.

I alternate them every four hours usually which covers them for 24 hours but if the temp/pain isn't coming down with calpol you can give ibuprofen as close as you liek to the paracetemol as long as you don't repeat it (the profen) for another 4-6 hours.

I was always told that you could do them in 2hour doses, ie calpol, 2 hours later ibuprofen, 2 hour later calpol etc.

yes u can switch, give ibuprofean 2-3 hrs after calpol then calpol again when then time due up, i also thought it four hrs not six

You can give Calpol and Ibuprofen at the same time. They are totally different drugs.

lisad123 · 15/09/2007 20:41

Although you can do 4 hours between calpol, its 6 hours for ibuprofen, so I tend to do 3 hourly. I have to do this often with dd.
Hope your holding up ok.
