As the filling the dentist was going to repair 4 weeks ago (ish) is starting to ache a bit

Which one is safe? who has got one in stock?

There is one called Toofy Pegs (in the UK).

KatyMac · 16/04/2020 22:31

I can't find any in stock

Toofy pegs is rubbish, there is a better one on amazon called temparin

Whynotdance · 16/04/2020 22:34

eBay. That's what I had to do. 😔 Paying four times the price.

ofwarren · 16/04/2020 22:39

Temparin on Amazon

KatyMac · 16/04/2020 22:43

The Amazon one says I need to see a dentist within 48 hours Sad

It’s fine I kept in on for 3 weeks over Xmas. If it falls out there is more in the pot. Use a mouth wash as well to keep your teeth clean.

thequeenbeyondthewall · 16/04/2020 23:37

Micron. You can buy it on amazon.

I filled a filling that fell out. The dentist said to leave it in till it fell out. It's still in two years later.

Ask your dentist. At our practice we have been making up temporary filling packs to patients and handing them out, as we know folk are struggling to find them online now.

KatyMac · 17/04/2020 12:06

The dentist is sending me heavy duty antibiotics as he's a bit worried about the root!

Now I have to wok out how to get the prescription filled

I have the same problem I’ve been using Temparin Max. It does say on the back go to a dentist after 48 hours , but when I rang my dentist they told me to use it. It’s lasted about a week so far plus the one I bought has two pots and you only need a little bit. When I had nothing in the hole it hurt but since I put this in it’s doesn’t.

KatyMac · 24/04/2020 08:47

oo thanks

I'm still struggling to get anything from Amazon

I bought temparin in a big Sainsbury's a couple of weeks ago. They had quite a few in stock, it was beside the toothpaste.

paranoid56 · 24/04/2020 09:23

I managed to get the last toofypegs in our Superdrug yesterday, I too couldn't find any online apart from eBay at 3x the normal price.
It's bloody difficult to use, make sure the tooth is really dry before using the stuff.

Kjled · 24/04/2020 11:33

I’d recommend going to the biggest supermarket you have near you might be the best place to look x

stiffchain · 24/04/2020 14:30

A few other things that might work. Firstly stuff called "orthodontic wax" you can get on Amazon might help. Another brand called "safe and sound" was still available to order last week.
Another thing we have been recommending to folk is the wax from a baby bel cheese

paranoid56 · 24/04/2020 21:14

My dentist recommended babybel wax, she says it doesn't matter if you accidentally swallow it either.

KatyMac · 24/04/2020 22:12

Thanks all

I will order babybels as one of my 80 for next Thursday from Tesco (even if we do need real food)

I have just brought the 'Safe+sound' brand of temporary at home kit tooth filling from Tesco, I simply can't afford to see a dentist and I have a phobia of needles anyway which i know would be used at the dentist. Has anyone used this temporary filling before? How was it for you? I have health anxiety and it's starting to get painful, when i push my tongue against it it feels ever so slightly loose.
