Support stockings (holdups)

How on earth do you get them to stay up?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant, and have been prescribed the dratted things. Problem is that they keep half sliding, half rolling down to form tournequets just below my knees, with the rubberised grippy-thing flapping about above the knee.

They are helping, despite this, but really!

Any tips - a suspender belt really isn't an option at this stage?

are they support stockings or ones which have been prescribed by your GP?
are they thigh length ... sound like they may not be the right size ...

Thigh-length, prescribed by GP, Scholl support stockings.

I suspect it's because I have ridiculously muscular calves that I've got the size I have - wouldn't get a smaller pair on!
