Is there anything he could be doing at home to help? Exercise/diet/medication?

He's 75 and normally fit.

Not much can be done about blocked arteries, except to see his GP, who will probably prescribe medication. It's possible he needs by-pass surgery if it's bad, but only his GP can advise and refer to the cardiology unit.
Sorry.

Oh, and it goes without saying, his diet should be healthy - plenty of veg, not too much unhealthy fat, (no junk food), and no drinking alcohol.

I understand your frustration. My DF had a heart attack last year. He had the attack for 14 hours before finally agreeing to go to hospital.
After his surgery he refused to go back for follow up treatment. We still dont knowhow damaged his heart is because he refused to have the scan done.
I'm really sorry, if he is anything like my DF, just give him all the advice on warning signs, chest pains that last more than 10 minutes etc.
Can you get him to the GP? My DF was prescribed several different things for angina before his big attack, such as statins to soften the arteries and a type of aspirin etc.
