Some gross thing has burrowed into my skin....

This is rather nasty, but hoping someone might be able to help. I spotted some tiny bug like thing - blackish - that had burrowed into my inner thing. I got tweezers and yanked on the 'legs' that were sticking out, but there is still something under the skin. The body? Just. Vile..... I had a gouge about with a safety pin, but think it's still there. Put a bit of TCP. Anyone know what it might be - and what on earth I can do about it? Apologies if I've made anyone feel unwell......

Go to your GP. They can often cut it out like a boil if it’s just below the surface

Eddmr · 09/04/2020 13:39

A tick? You need to get it all out.

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 09/04/2020 13:40

Inner thigh? Ouch if you actually meant ‘thing’ Wink

Are you absolutely sure it wasn’t an ingrown hair?

A tick would have been like a small bean, unless it had been broken off maybe?

What happens if you squeeze it? Or try and tweeze out the remains?

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 09/04/2020 13:40

Tbh unless you were wearing short shorts and sitting in long grass a tick wouldn’t get as far as your inner thigh.

PheasantPlucker1 · 09/04/2020 13:42

OP we need photos.

You cant tease us like this and not provide photos!

FlashesOfRage · 09/04/2020 13:43

Picsssssssss Grin

Appuskidu · 09/04/2020 13:44

Photo?

Sounds like a tick

HasaDigaEebowai · 09/04/2020 13:45

If its a tick its really important that you get it all out.

perniciousdot · 09/04/2020 13:48

Ticks are not tiny though?

Hormonecrazyhell · 09/04/2020 13:50

OMG my worse fear

Redannie118 · 09/04/2020 13:58

Sounds like a tick- this is how it looked when my dog had one. Due to the area possible it's a pubic louse.

Statistician999 · 09/04/2020 13:59

Sounds like a tick. Once on your body they are mobile and will move to dark, warm places. You need to get the whole thing out otherwise you risk an infection and/or Lyme disease.

Oh God.... I think it might be a tick. Thought only dogs got them. How to treat? Can't go to GP (surgery closed anyway). Wonder if a chemist would know what to do... Will try to send photo of what 's left - if you're sure you want to see it....

Nofunkingworriesmate · 09/04/2020 14:31

Seek medical attention your doctor is still available ring them

Bobbiepin · 09/04/2020 14:33

Definitely want to see it. Tbh at this time I would boil a razor blade and cut it out myself and be VERY careful to keep it clean etc afterwards but that's terrible advice.

Gatekeeper · 09/04/2020 14:33

ticks don't burrow under skin into flesh but attach themselves to the outside and engorge on blood. We need a pic

AtAt123 · 09/04/2020 14:38

Shamelessly following to find out what it is.

lottieloop · 09/04/2020 14:38

Op you must post a pic so we can see.

If it is a tick it needs removing ASAP.

Thanks
myidentitymycrisis · 09/04/2020 14:38

I need to see it to make a full diagnosis !

lottieloop · 09/04/2020 14:39

Are you sure it isn't an ingrown hair OP?
I suffer with these & they do sometimes cause like a sort of boil under the skin sometimes....

eurochick · 09/04/2020 14:44

It sounds like a tick. They can carry Lyme disease and the risks increase the longer a bit of it remains in the skin. You need to see a nurse.

My daughter had one in her face when she was a toddler. It was bloody awful to get the damn thing out.
