I have had it milder before, maybe 2 or 3 years ago but for the last week or so it's been on fire! No amount of itching will relieve it, just washed with T-gel and it's flared up again. Last time I had it it was after using Herbal Essences shampoo, and I used it again at my mums and this happened, but it's been a week or so now! What will make it go away?

Don't panic. They only bite, don't burrow

Itching is an allergic reaction to their bites so likely to be all over even if they only bit you in some places...but it takes about 6 weeks usually of having them before it itches, so unlikely to have been the other day.

I had this once for a week, it was keeping me awake at night, thought it was shampoo but no.

Anyway wash your hair and smother with conditioner. Then sit with a smooth white cloth, and a fine comb (plastic or metal cat flea comb works well)
Go through your hair while thickly conditioner coated, and wipe each stroke on the cloth. You will soon find them if they are there.
I got some hedrin the next day but TBH I only found one after that during the whole 2 weeks of treatment - apart from the tiny baby specks - I had found 9 on the first combing!!! [gross emoticon]

They do die if you keep conditioning and combing every 2 or 3 days for two weeks. Hedrin also as a back up.
Don't bother with the poisonous stuff as they are quite resistant.

Good luck!
