Pain under rib

Over the last 15 years or so I've had a pain on and off under my right rib area gallstones were always suspected. I've had ultrasounds 3 or 4 times to investigate and there has never been anything untoward found apart from a polyp on my gallbladder.

The last ultrasound I had the scanner was really thorough and checked all of my abdomen and everything was fine.

This pain isn't constant and I can go ages without it bothering me. Over the last few days it's started again. It feels almost like trapped wind and I do get wind when I have the pain.

Today all I've eaten is a yoghurt and some slices of meat and had no pain, I've just eaten dinner and the pain is back and I've got wind.

Given the current situation I'm not sure whether I'll even be able to get a GP appointment to get checked over. Has anyone else ever had anything similar? I'm not sure if it's an IBS thing or something more.

Hi, I have this also mines in the middle, and along my ribs been told it’s indigestion. I burp loads, and it comes and goes but had it for a few days, doctors given me some meds for it and they do help but fullness or ache is there. I had an ultrasound in December and showed bile duct was slightly dilated and I had a ct scan, still showed nothing so left me to it as only mildly and under cut off. But I think I have gallbladder issues as I’ve been told a lot of people only show through a hida scan when it shows it’s not functioning right and during surgery they find stones and sludge!

I also suffer with health anxiety so I’ve convinced myself I have bile duct cancer 🤦🏻‍♀️ My bloods were all normal last time I had them checked

I have this. It's not a pain it's more or an ache under my left rib, I'm sure I can feel something there when I move. I have severe health anxiety and this is not helping

Exactly the same. Mines like an ache sometimes go into my throat and chest. Thought I was having a heart attack

@Loobylou1987 yes I'm the same, I thought it was my heart, ended up in a&e couple of months ago, turns out i was having a panic attack but since then I have been having this ache under my rib, i can feel it more if I bend down or move in a funny way. I wonder if it is our anxiety?

I definitely think the mind plays tricks. I convinced myself I had brain tumour because my neck and base of my head was hurting and it was like it for months and then all of a sudden it went cos I wasn’t thinking about it.

@Loobylou1987 yes definitely I had pins and needles in arm a couple of weeks ago and convinced myself the same, GP said it was anxiety. I had diarrhoea and convinced myself it was bowel cancer. I hate anxiety
