Should we go or should we stay

DD aged 1 has 3 tiny red dots on her tum and face. Found out last night two of her friends who she has played with in the last 2 weeks have chicken pox. She is off her food but otherwise fine, no fever or anything.

Just that today Im going to meet up with 3 old uni friends,2 of whom have babies (6 months and 11 months). One of them is over the States and this is the only time I'll get to see her and her gorgeous baby this year.

But has dd got chicken pox?! Should I stay away in case I infect them? The dots appeared last night. Any views welcome!

tbh there is no mistaking chicken pox,they look very unique,searcg googel as grumpy suggested.I suspect it isn't cp if the rash is fine red spots

Could be the start of CP - with dd she had a couple of small red spots which looked a little like insect bites then over a few hours more appeared and they turned into the blisters. If it is CP your dd will be very infectious I'm afraid.

The little girl she caught it from had very mild symptoms (sp) just pimples. The mum thought nothing of it but unfortunately the little girl's dad now has full blown chicken pox so we are pretty sure its what the babies in our gang have.

Then you need to ask your friends and see what they think - it's not really your decision to make, is it?!

No, stay away. not all children have it mildly, regardless of how mild the case they were exposed to was.

Ds1 had some spots, a snot nose and was tired. Ds2 got it 2 weeks later and was covered in a blistering rash and screamed for 2 weeks, and is still badly scarred/

Thanks for the responses. Not going. Would feel awful if I spread it far and wide. The 3 spots have multiplied to 6. They look like little mosquito bites, but an internet doctor said this is how they can look.

Sigh...dd and I will go into quarantine and miss the meet up. Bad timing!
