My breath sounds like popping candy

I've been in bed for four days with a bad cold, started with sinuses /sneezing and nasal stuff...
It's moved down to my chest; when I cough I can feel it.
I'm concerned that it now feels and sounds like popping candy in my chest, it's so loud it woke my husband up last night. It's not painful, but if I breathe deeply it does cause a coughing fit.
I really don't want to bother 111 at this time, I did the online test yesterday, but I don't feel I should call them, they've more important things to be doing with everything that's going on.
Has anyone ever experienced this before?
Thank you

Yes, I've had this with a normal cough but with things as they are, I think your whole household needs to self isolate jusr in case you have a mild case

Thanks @Kitk.
Yes, we are now in full self-isolation mode, just in case. Both teachers - and feel very guilty as we want to be doing our bit.
It's reassuring that you've had it under 'normal' circumstances, I'll reign in the concern.

I had a cough like that third week in Feb. I'm now wondering if it was CV.
It was very dry, when i breathed out heavily I could hear cracking- like someone screwing up paper.
I got over ti quickly though- no issues.

get well soon! Flowers

I think if it doesn’t warrant ambulance then it’s wait and watch.

HappyKatieA · 22/03/2020 14:41

Thanks @Mimilarue, it sounds exactly like that! Glad you got better quickly.
It does make you wonder...

@Greyishdays no ambulance needed here!
I will wait it out.
