For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lol at BBBee doing ditties in her pasties!

MsCarrot · 13/09/2007 20:54

I got up too late for breakfast. Lunch was tuna steak with parsley and capers, watercress, avocado and tomato salad. I have had a very virtuous dinner of barley stew with carrots, mushrooms, onions, leeks, potato, peas and parsley. It would have better with some pancetta.

BBBee · 13/09/2007 20:56

how your mastitis MonsieurCarrot?

IdrisTheDragon · 13/09/2007 20:58

I am here .

My husband is hundreds of miles away. I am not on the stairs with anyone else either .

The cat is here though.

100x, whistling through, would say your s-i-l's problem is that the 'AP' thing is difficult for one woman to carry out alone here in UK. It does work seamlessly in cultures where the baby is always held by someone but not always the same person i.e. mother, who is then free to do other things. In extended families in other cultures aunties will breastfeed the baby as they probably have a little one too. Older cousins entertain and play with baby - so much pressure is taken off the mum who in our Western culture can be in danger of being restaurant/entertainer/all round succcour in a way no human being can keep up for too long. To carry all that on your tod = burn out IME.
By two, i would have thought, the child should be troughing away on solids all day and just need comfort nibbles at night. DS is already like this and his comfort snacking doesn't actually wake me, well, i'm aware but still asleep so i feel refreshed in the morning.

First thing is she needs to get comrades who support her ideals. Can she go home, to where ever she hails from, and put her feet up while aunties and copusins all flock round sprog and thereby give her a well deserved rest?

On a practical note, what sling does she use? Maybe she needs to update to one more suitable for a toddler rather than a baby and get better support for her back?

Is she taking care of her own health, eating well?

Now, PSW, I must take issue with your comment about my 'silly name thing'. You will be at this stage in two years. Oh yes. Then we will see.

You will be all, 'oh, I dont want to be PINKSPOTTYWELLIES now I'm old, I think I'll be pINKSPOTTYsTILLETOS, or maybe PINKSPOTTYESPEDRILLES or PINKSPOTTYKITTENHEEL.

Uh huh. You will.

BBBee - It is a bit less swollen thank you, but I feel odd today, very tired and dizzy. I have followed all the advice and hopefully it will be a bit better tomorrow.

Boco · 13/09/2007 21:24

If you need a sensible plan
Come to the vedgers and ask for Anne
She'll tell you to try things a different way
And send your children off to play
She lives on a diet of finest brie
That she keeps in her handbag along with her key[s]

I am actually illustrating a bleeding book written like this. I can't look directly at the rhymes, they make me queasy.

Carol Ann Duffy does a childrens book that mostly rhymes but not quite in a pleasing way.

Carotte · 13/09/2007 21:27

I mean, it is pleasing that it doesn't quite rhyme. She is very pleased with herself though. I saw her at Glastonbury once.

Are you Avi? How exciting, where will you be?

Boco · 13/09/2007 21:32

She's annoyed herself, so she might be ignoring herself, so she might not even know she's here.
