Has anyone got experience of Central Retinal Vein Occlusion?

I've had visual disturbance in my right eye for quite a while. They go quite quickly and I was diagnosed with retinal migraine. In the last couple of months I have been getting them daily and now the visual disturbance is constant. It is like cloudy spots in my central vision. It's worse when I wake up and I can hardly see at all.

I saw the optician today and have been referred urgently to an eye specialist on Monday, but I am now worried the vision problems may be permanent or get worse. The referral said I have CRVO with macular involvement and disc oedema. Slightly scared by that.

Any experiences?

My husband has macular occlusion. We waited for an nhs appointment which took weeks so had to see a private specialist. By then he couldn’t read any of the letters on the chart. He’s now had one injection and it’s much better. Needs 2 more. Not sure if this is exactly what you have, it was described to us a a small bleed about 1mm wide in the centre of the eye and the lack of vision was due to the body surrounding this with liquid like a bruise.

Thanks for the reply. It sounds similar. For me the vein is blocked so I have haemorrhages at the back of my eye as the blood has nowhere to go. A bit scary but I will try not to worry. Hopefully I will get some improvement once they know the cause.
