I had mine put in just over a month ago and have now been having bleeding for nearly 3 weeks. Right now it's getting heavier rather than going away and I'm beginning to wonder when it's ever going to stop!

What are other people's experiences? I also have lots of spots and had some shocking PMT. It's just great! I've had sex maybe 3 times since it was put in because I've either been a hormonal nightmare or bleeding and I'm wondering why I've bothered!

When does it get better!?

It can take up to 6 months for it to settle down, you can, if it continues ask your gp to put you on the pill to see (whilst the implanon is in your arm) to see if that stops your AF

Oh no! I was thinking of having one as I have had 3 periods in 1 month on Marvelon pill. Maybe its a case of better the devil you know!

Ps. 3times in 3 weeks seems like good going to me...no wonder DP is always complaining...tee hee hee!

I had mine put in at the end of May. Bled for a week. Then had my period, it lasted 2 weeks. 2 weeks without period, another 2 week long heavy period. Pains in my back and abdomen. Had an ultrasound, everything was fine. It is now returning to normal. My period is a little heavier and lasts a little longer, but it gives me no discomfort. I have the Mirena copper coil.

I got mine put in in Nov 04. Had irreg bleeding, heavy and unpredictable for a few month, had a course of the pill for 2 mth to settle.
Had a blissful 2 years of no periods, but then a few motnhs ago started spotting continuously. Had it taken out a couple of months ago and have returned to normal cycle straight away.

Did get spotty too. Was worth it for the 2 years, but the worry when i starte4d spotting (convinced it was cancer) was not worth it. Wouldn't have it again.

hi ladies a few years ago i had implant in my arm and i didnt stop bleeding for 10 months i keept going back to the clinic and telling them and they said wait to see if it settles which it didnt so i went doctors and had to had bloods took on several occasions because gp said because of the blood lost im best just getting it took out as its going to make me anemic (cant spell it). so if u dont feel comfy will the bleeding or waiting as long as 6 months to see if it settles have it take out. other thing is when i had mine out it had enbedded its self in my arm that well the doctor made a right mess of my arm getting it out im now scared from it.
