I've never had problems with urine infections and then earlier this year I had two lots within 2 weeks (both treated with antibiotics). The first was e-coli and assume the second was residual part of first as test was negative for e-coli. Very frightened as urine was deep red - my doctor initially suspected kidney failure but as I was well in all other respects he ruled it out. Anyway, I was called by the hospital for an emergency ultrasound where it was discovered that I have a double kidney. Apparently not serious but have to have an intravenous urogram to check it out thoroughly. Am delaying this as I stll BF and Doctor is supportive.
Perhaps you will be scanned to rule out any underlying problems. Good luck - it's probably precautionary (you could always call your GP for more info if you are very concerned).

If they said that they would investigate then it may be for a simple scan. DD had one which was an ultrasound, dead easy and nothing to worry about. I've had a couple of UTIs and a kidney infection about 10 years ago - bl**dy painful things aren't they?
I would ring the GP so that at least you may get an idea of what to anticipate tomorrow - either way at least it'll get it sorted so that you feel better.
