pulmonary stenosis

my DS was diagnosed with a moderate supravulvular pulmonary stenosis at 10 wks old, he is now 15wks old, anyone out there with any experience of this?

yes hun my dd diagnosed at her 8 week check , she has to go to specialists every so otfen, 1st every 3 months then 6 and now they are very pleaed with her progress and the readings of her heart are actually slightly better , we were told she would prob need a slight procedure to widen the valve but now this loooks unlikel;y, she may need antibiotics if she has dentistry. she is 19 months and has never had any syptoms at all , its very worrying i know but fairly common so we were told . were are you ? best wishes x

We are going to see the paeds cardiac team next weds , we were told the same re- dentist and blood risk infections. Dosent stop me worrying, i constantly check him when hes asleep just to check hes still breathing etc.Youre response was really reassuring ...Thanks

dd1 was born with an atrial septal defect and a pulmonary stenosis

she is 15 now, with just a mild benign murmur

she used to have anti biotics for invasive dentistry but doesnt need them now

exactly the same here ie the worry was awful we completley freaked out i must admit i still check her when shes asleep but im a particulary obsessive mum anyway . one thing is that the specialist team have been fantastic and always put us at ease , its not even like going to hospital as its so child friendly . ps lou did your dd have to have any treatment at all ?

DS is gorgeous, happy,gaining weight and loves his sleep, the only time he really cries is if he is tired and wants to go to bed its just the worry of if they decide to do the balloon angioplasty and stent, but we wont know anything until we see the consultsnt next week.

we were told that it was aprobability that she would have the procedure and were gearing ourselves for this , it caused a great deal of stress as anything wrong no matter what it is is a worry but the fact that its her heart was devastating , now things are looking better and although im glad she prob wont need the op now they had reasured us that its a routine op and only takes a short time , i know how you must be feeling and for me it was just not knowing how things would progress but you will feel better when you have seen the specialist xxxxx

IT such a relief to chat with someone whos been there, he just seems so tiny to have anything done to him [if he needs it]and i just wonder if its worth the risk , though i dont know what they are, i just dont like the thought of anyone hurting him, im the sorta mum that wants to hit the nurse that gives him his jabs[and hes got three next time] so i told DH that hes got to take him in lmao xx

i was very woried about her having to stay in hospital and no amount of reasurance made me feel any better , its horrible to think of anyone doing anything to them isnt it ? i recently had to go out of the room while they put eye drops in dds eyes they were very rough and she wa snot impressed at all ,if i had been holding her and not dh i would of knocked the nurse out i reckon.xxxxxxxx luckily as i say our cardiac unit is sso lovely and the staff are great

got to go Ds just woke up and he will no doubt want a feed soon thanks again for answering and ill post again after we see consults next week xx

they were supposed to operate on the asd but i somehow managed to heal itself, the stenosis they took no action over, just monitored, as on it's own it was not serious enough to warrant surgery

Mummymelling - my dd (13) has supravalvar PS. It's part of a group of heart problems that she has. The usual corrective procedure is to stretch the artery via catheter but generally they don't do it unless it's severe and they may treat with meds for a while.

Gaining weight and feeing well are good signs
