I recently had a blood test and the test results have come back. Surgery didn't even bother to tell me. I contacted them today and the lady at the reception told me that my vitamin b12 " was slightly elevated" as per the GP's notes on the system. The GP has marked it as " Satisfactory" but this particular GP is known for misdiagnosing and inaccurate advice ( not only me but others as well). She has given me and my IL's incorrect advice before which were contrary to consultants advice as well as her own colleague's advice. The receptionist said that they are not allowed to give me the readings over the phone and i cant go and collect the results today as it is raining and i have a toddler. So i have been looking things up on Google and it says an elevated Vit. B12 results could be related to liver disease (such as cirrhosis or hepatitis) Myeloproliferative disorders (for example, polycythemia vera and chronic myelogenous leukemia) or kidney disease which has got me really worried. Has anyone had slightly increased levels of Vit B12 which was not caused by any of the above? For info- i am taking Pregnacare Breastfeeding as i am ( kind of) breast feeding toddler. I say "kind of " as she doesnt want feeding all the time just about twice a day, or sometimes just once and i seem to be low on supply. I was wondering if the vit b12 in pregnacare could be causing this. Will be booking an appointment with my regular GP next week but worrying in the meantime.
