Has anyone had an injection for a slipped disc?

I've been having awful trouble with a slipped disc pressing on the nerve in my neck, causing repeated migraines and a stabbing pain in my left eye. A few months of physio haven't helped and I wanted to ask if any fellow MNetters have had the injections in the spine and if it helped (more than very short term), or if they found anything else instead helped?
Thank you ever so much!

Sorry to hear about your pain. My slipped disc was cured with osteo visits and rest but that not much good to you. My dad has shag you describe..he had 2 injections privately which cost a bomb...and didnt help. However he then had an mri which helped diagnose properly the issue... and he just takes painkillers now.
So... perhaps try osteo and mri?

I have! With a ruptured disk. I had been suffering for four months before the procedure, and they said it would probably heal in another three, but I could not stand the pain. It was fine. Terrifying because I tried to brave it out without a sedative, then they told me not to breathe... I instantly started huge gulping breaths, so they pushed the sedative into the drip immediately.

It was only about five days until I had incredible relief. I would not hesitate to do so again if needed.

Good luck.

Sorry you're suffering. Yes - I had an injection. But it didn't work at all. (I was too far gone.) What worked was having an operation to take the disc out. The injection is worth a try though.

Thank you for letting me know everyone! I'm going to try the injection, I'm desperate for the pain to be alleviated so it's worth trying!
