Sickness when taking the pill...any suggestions

I have been on and off the pill over the last 8 years, and get very sick and queasy when taking it. I have never actually been productively sick (IYKWIM!!) but it really affects me through the day. I changed from Brevinor to Yasmin as that was supposed to help but today, after my weeks break, I have felt rotten.
I have tried to take it at night, but have forgotten a few times and ended up falling pregnant!
Any suggestions??
TIA

Don't take it? Maybe your body is telling you that you need a different type of contraception.

I suffered with headaches whenever I was on the pill (all different types) and they only got better when I stopped taking the pill.

I know what you mean about the coil. I am not a squemish person, but the thought of it makes me shudder.

But is does seem like you may have to consider another form on contraception, as you can't carry on with the nausea.

Biglips · 04/09/2007 14:30

yes if you cannot bear the thought of the coil then go back 2 your docs and change the pill. Hope u will find the pill thats suited you!

(before i went on the coil, cos of the high blood pressure i had to stop taking the pill, i tried out 8 different tabs till i found the perfect one for me)

why dont u try the mini pill?

Biglips · 04/09/2007 14:33

the mini pill - you GOT to take it the exact same time every single day for the pill to work.. or otherwise it wont work. I thought that was too much of a headache to remember

FlameBatfink · 04/09/2007 14:37

Take it at night-time - you sleep through the sickness. Do you clean your teeth before bed/set an alarm clock? Keep the pill there - and get your partner to nag you!!!

I ended up with the coil as the nausea was just a sign of all the other things the pill was messing about with in my body

daisycat01 · 04/09/2007 14:39

What was it doing then???

My moods were all over the place, I had (tmi alert) dryness issues, weight gain (over 10 years you don't notice it so much). Now I have come off it I feel like me for the first time since I was 17.
