I'm 40+1 today and pretty sure my DD (2.5) has scarlet fever. She had a fever plus vomiting on Saturday, managed by Calpol and fluids etc. Her tongue today is covered in a white coating and there's a rash coming up on her chest. I'm waiting for a call back from the GP.

I'm due to give birth any day. I've had a cold myself but more sinus-y that scarlet fever symptoms. I'm panicking a bit now about what this means for me/baby.

Can anybody advise? My DD seems to have turned the corner and is picking at bits of food again. Does this mean we're out of the contagious period?

Ring the hospital and ask them.
