Swelling behind knee, very painful, constant clicking, please help!

I posted a thread about this a few days ago but only 1 response and before I had discovered swelling behind my knee tonight before going for a shower. It looks and feels quite swollen compared to the back of my other knee.

I woke up with this pain around a week ago and it is quite painful to go up/down stairs, drive, or kneel down. I am also struggling a bit to put weight on it when going from sitting to standing position.
I am 5'1, 50kg, no injury at all as I don't do a lot of exercise.

I've made a doctors appointment but it's 3 weeks away. I don't know whether I should go to the pharmacist tomorrow and get them to take a look at it? Thanks

I should also say, it is hard to straighten my leg as it is painful and then it does a very painful click, every time

I have a swelling behind my knee. It's a bakers cyst and is completely harmless but makes bending my knee difficult. I've had a knee problem that has allowed the fluid from my knee to accumulate at the back. The other things that are similar are ganglions

Thanks for your reply! Do you think I shouldn’t bother going to the pharmacist tomorrow then? I don’t want to bother them if there’s nothing anyone can do

Hi sorry I haven't been on mn for a wee while. If it is Bakers Cyst you just have to let your body sort it. Physio exercises can help. Might be worth getting it checked properly though. Pharmacy will give you ibuprofen x
