Strange painful graze/raised bump behind ear

Anyone experienced something similar before

Went to sleep completely fine - woke up and my ear hurt as if I'd slept funny on it?
On touching it, it was more painful, like a little bump directly behind but throbbing.
have put Sudacrem on overnight - just feels like a sore as if it's cut but it's not. Also my whole ear is hurting now, seems to be worse a day later and inside feels unusual.

any thoughts appreciated.

My first thought was shingles. Have you been feeling unwell recently?

You have glands there. Raised gland?

I dont think its shingles as I am feeling generally ok and its not a rash, more of a cut/graze/bump

I thought that, but then its sort of in the middle of the ear - whereas I thought glands were behind the ear lobe. this is higher than that

My dad had this and it was an infection of the mastoid bone and inner ear. Bet to see a doc ASAP

Thank you - have googled and it sounds similar! trying to get a GP appointment with no luck so far but will keep trying
