I know it certainly hurt going in.

Please answer Yes/No and describe pain/sensation!

Thanks!

If you're at all nervous, take a couple of nurofen before you go. I suspect it's probably pyschological but, it always seems to make me feel better about it.

It did hurt a little but no where near as much as having it put in! take paracetamol before you go & you'll be fine! (as long as you don't have to wait as long as I did in the waiting room)

Yes. Feels (briefly) like a hot needle.

divastrop · 29/08/2007 21:08

it didnt hurt me,although i was elated at the thought of it being removed and replaced with a copper coil.

i didnt feel anything other than a slight tug...but dc5 had pretty much fallen out of that hole only 6 weeks previously so that may have something to do with it.

i took neurofen when i had my 2nd copper coil put in as the first one hurt alot, and it made a difference.worth taking some beforehand IMO.

If the nurse of doctor is any good it should NEVER hurt.

macdoodle · 29/08/2007 21:15

Umm divastrop you were pregnant and delivered with a mirena in situ?? Blimey the failure rate for them is miniscule

divastrop · 29/08/2007 21:17

macdoodle-noi had it fitted when she was 3 weeks old and removed when she was 6 weeks as i had really awful side effects.

macdoodle · 29/08/2007 21:52

oh ok makes sense - they probably should have waited till 6 weeks probably would have had less problems
