Really painful, itchy nether regions...what can I try? (long..sorry)

I had a rather loose tummy earlier this week and it's resulted in soreness around my bottom. I have piles already, and I suffer from ulcerative colitis so I'm no stranger to this, however through my own mismanagement it's now spread to my vulva and it is extremely itchy and painful.

I started off by applying some sudocrem to my bottom, which didn't help so I applied some germoloids the next day as it was starting to be very itchy. However, one or both of the creams then got onto my vulva which felt so incredibly itchy, together with the soreness on my bottom which has spread further away from my anus onto my bum cheeks (sorry, tmi... Blush )

I then abandoned the germoloids and used some propolis cream (very gentle cream which I've used before for general skin irritation and it worked a treat). This also didn't improve it, to the point that last night I felt like my whole nether regions were on fire. I had a shower, washing in my neutrogena face wash as that was the gentlest thing I could find, and then smeared aloe vera gel over the affected area. I also wrapped some ice cubes in a flannel and placed them between my legs so I could sleep. The itching seems to have calmed down slightly this morning, but the skin soreness is still there. My piles have also swollen and so I am constipated which makes things worse.

I am going to go out today and buy some unscented wash, will continue with the aloe gel as that seems to soothe but has anyone got any miracle cream that they can recommend - or any other helpful advice please?

My UC is controlled by medication and I'm generally symptom free. I had something like this a few months ago when I had a colonoscopy and the related preparation made me very sore, but it's worse this time. Last time IIRC the sudocream worked, although I remember it did get onto my vulva then and make it sore - but not like this. And why didn't I remember that before smearing it on again this time Sad

Try Epaderm ointment from a chemist (Boots should stock it). You can use it for washing and as a soothing cream. Brilliant stuff recommended to me by a GP.

Gosh you poor thing. I would find a proper pharmacist that’s open and ask them for advice before I tried any other creams. If I couldn’t do that or they couldn’t help I would stick with cool water / ice pack rather than creams.

Thanks both. Not heard of Epaderm but it does look just the job. Will pop out to Boots to get some.

Could it be thrush?

No, I've had thrush and this is definitely not it.

Update - have bought the Epaderm and applied it so fingers crossed!
