I had another stressy day yesterday.
Felt naggy and snappy with the kids and dh. They weren't even that bad( the kids). It was just a combination of the usual things , plus we had to go to the dentist and the opptitians in the rain.

By bath time I could hardly breathe calmly. Dh was home in time to help and I left him to it and put washing away.

I usually get like this about a week before I'm due on.

I never was like this before dd was born. She's muy 2nd child.

I get bloated too. Usual stuff I suppose but just wondered what people did to help.
Dh is good and just lets me rant but I feel so bad about it. Its like I know I'm grumpy but cant stop.

I did chat to ds before he fell asleep though and we talked about all the good things he'd done that day and we said tomorrows a new day etc. I said sorry for shouting too.

DP normally notices and helps a bit more, makes me cups of tea, etc. ignoring me usually helps, because i will pick and pick on purpose, iyswim?

Pinkchampagne · 23/08/2007 14:49

I get stressed & nag too!

princessmel · 23/08/2007 14:49

Yes dh does notice. He can't help but notice

I shout & weep & gnash my teeth.

Then I shout some more & get itchy.

Then I blame the world & his wife of hating me. I tell my husband I am fat & ugly & I am leaving home.

Then my period arrives. Normality reigns.

scorpio1 · 23/08/2007 14:49

same here! i just find more help and a bit more rest stops it. that and stodgy food!

princessmel · 23/08/2007 14:50

I'm not the only one then?

Nobody take evening primrose oil or whatever it is thats supposed to help with 'womens issues'

I'm not on the pill or anything either. Do you think that makes it worse??

Can't rec Agnus Castus highly enough. Been on it for 2 months and def noticed a difference.

scorpio1 · 23/08/2007 14:51

i am still a cow no matter what type of contraceptive i have used.

im pg now so dont have to worry for a while!

doggiesayswoof · 23/08/2007 14:52

Ugh, me too.

I get stressed and anxious and tearful
and very nitpicky with dh - who is fab - so I have to go some to find something to criticise, but I always manage it.

Never tried it, but am tempted to take evening primrose oil and see if that helps.

princessmel · 23/08/2007 14:52

Ah yes the food. I always say to dh that I need treat food. bad food = a takeaway.

Can't have one though. We made a deal that we'd try and not have one till christmas. I dont know how long we'll last. Its been 2.5 weeks so far!!
Thats good going for us.

OP posts:
doggiesayswoof · 23/08/2007 14:53

I need chocolate and overly sweet cups of tea.

NAB3 · 23/08/2007 14:58

Yes, H&B though you can get it from your pharmacists but it is more expensive.

princessmel · 23/08/2007 14:59

Sorry which place would it be cheaper.

princessmel · 23/08/2007 15:01

Ok great. I'll look later.

We're all going back to the opptitians later to collect my glasses. In the rain. Yippee. I'll look in H&B while we're in town.

I've been taking the Magnesium-OK multivitamin, and it's really helping, both with physical symptoms (used to get really painful norks) and with the snappishness (I think).

princessmel · 23/08/2007 15:02

Oh dear, now theres magnesium, evening
primrose oil and agnus castus. How do I know whats best for me????

Thanks for the suggestions

princessmel · 23/08/2007 15:08

Ok deffo

I'll be embarrased describing my naggyness to a shop assistant though.

I suffered the same this month (first period since DD was born). The same as you I have never suffered before, but I felt bloated and really short tempered (poor kids) to the point that I worried myself. I found a juice in 'Super Juice' by M. Van Straten to help. I made it and felt better, but it could have been coincidence, as it was a few days in. I'm going to try it again for next time.

Women's Wonder
2 apples
2 carrots
1 bulb chicory
1/2 bulb fennel.

It sounds bad, but it was actually quite good. I halved the recipe and it made a glassfull.

Good luck for next month
