I seem to be losing a lot of hair!

Every time I wash my hair (every day) I get covered in hair as I comb it and the floor wherever I brush or dry my hair seems to have a lot of hair on afterwards. And my hair definitely seems a lot thinner.

I don't over style - am far too lazy so don't think I am abusing it although I get it coloured about every 4 weeks.

I tried googling hair loss and just get stuff about alopecia but I don't think it is that.

Any ideas oh wise ones? Have a baldy DH - don't want to be the same!

Have you recently had a baby?

I know that some women experience hair loss for some time after.

WigWamBam · 23/08/2007 12:22

Could be an underactive thyroid.

Do you have any of the other symptoms listed here?

Budababe · 23/08/2007 12:28

Sexonlegs - "baby" is now 6! I did lose a lot of hair then but expected to.

WWB - I may get my thyroid checked. Am tired a lot. Am overweight. Skin is dry although not overly so and not coarse really. Am in Budapest and it is HOT. Don't feel the cold too badly.

Thanks for that link.

I loose a lot of hair.

I wash my hair probably 5 times a week and then everyday have to sweep it all up - just sheds around the house. I don't have it coloured and it is only shoulder length...

I am completely healthy and have loads of hair - it is not thinning.

I often find i 'moult' around this time of the year - late summer, early autumn. Not to any huge degree - I just find there's more hair around when I've brushed it. No idea what causes it though.

I'm the same as Botbot. i've got verty thick hair which starts to moult in September. I've already noticed a bit more hair on the brush. If it's cos it's autumn, would it not moult if i went on holiday to Australia?
