Is this a THINGIE I have to be concerned about on my hand?

This morning a vein in my hand suddenly started bleeding. With no injury, was doing nothing. I literally just watched my hand swell in one area.

Sudden pain on middle knuckle, the veins either side of the knuckle swelled up - the vein in the middle burst and the knuckle had loads of blood (all under the skin). Yes, sudden pain.

Now, just left with a bruise and an achy hand.

Possibly a burst blood vessel? I've had that before in my finger, it suddenly started throbbing, really sore, then I was left with a bruise.

Yep spontaneously bursting blood vessel. I get them in my hands and they hurt like buggery. Nothing to be concerned about according to GP.
I once had one on the sole of my foot that hurt even more.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/12/2019 21:01

Yes, agree. I get them sometimes - hurt like a bastard for a while and then calm down a bit but leave black/blue bruising.

Blueuggboots · 08/12/2019 21:01

This happens to me quite frequently on different parts of my hand.

I had one on my foot once too - so painful. It feels like burning itchiness that comes out of nowhere, makes you feel like screaming and then is gone as quickly as it comes.

Oh thank you all so much for your replies - so helpful that it isn't anything to worry about Thanks

Nothing to worry about, as mentioned above, I get them fairly frequently.

They can be a sign if EDS though, so if you are hyper mobile at all, that might be something to look into
