DD 11 and half months isn't well...nasty virus causing very snotty nose and nasty cough and also teething....Dd cut a tooth on Sunday. DD has refused all her spoon feeds for 5 days and I'm worried she's losing weight...she's always been on the small side so not much too loose. DD still taking some milk but not as much as usual. How long do anyone else's LO's go refusing spoon feeds when not well?...worried first time mummy with number 2 due in 3 months.....

it's normal to refuse food when unwell. Milk is alos a food wwo will be giving her calories and fluids, so that's very important. If she's drinking milk little and often, and making plenty of wet nappies, you probably don't have too much to worry about.

Have you taken her to the doctor's?

'Milk is alos a food wwo'
should read:
'Milk is also a food so'

start worrying if she is lethargic and isn't interested in taking milk, or has difficulty breathing due to her coughing.

as long as she is taking fluids, make a note of how many mls or ozs over 2 days.
She may find it hard to drink her bottle and breathe while she has a snotty nose so give her extra time to drink.
Try using saline drops to clear out her nose- very effective and she will get great relief. Steam will also open her airways so run a nice bath for yourself and/or her!
These viruses are awful but keep a check on her temperature. Don't be afraid to ring surgery if you are at all concerned or if she continues to refuse solids.
