Anyone else had Kidney Stones?

I have mentioned this on and off in other threads - I got kidney stones as a pregnancy complication this time last yr, and although the cause of it all is now commando crawling round the floor, I am still passing them occasionally.
They are VERY painful - the painkillers are the same as for labour! I am also suffering recurrent kidney/urine infections which they say will clear up once all the stones are gone.
And then this week at the hospital appointment the Urologist kind of off-handedly said 'Of course, you shouldn't get pregnant again - you'll lose your kidney if you do' - just like that, with no explanation! Now I wasn't planning any more kids, really, but to suddenly be told I CAN'T has left me shocked, it seems so final.
Just wondered if anyone else had had stones or other kidney problems, especially related to pregnancy.

I wanted to update you on how well I was doing - but .....
I went to the urology clinic last week and was discharged - Hooooray!! What was the best was that the urologist could see stones. We live in a remote area and have only a general surgeon, the urologist visits every 3 months - so the surgeon had been looking at the scans and not seeing any stones, but the urologist could see them fine. Was glad he could as I was beginning to think every one though I was faking it and was actually a pethedine junkie!
Anyway he said I would probably always be a stone-former, and there was a chance I could have them again. But he let me come off my long term antibiotics which I was very grateful for.
However, now I have pyelonephritis (kidney infection). Drinking s much as I can to stay hydrated and out of hospital. Must still be a wee stone in there. Ah well, I've had worse.

Susanmt, I'm glad you have a proper diagnosis but sorry to hear that you're suffering again. Lets hope that nature works a miracle and you can get rid of this problem once and for all. Best wishes.
